DMCA Notice & Takedown

Stumble is a U.S. service provider that registers a DMCA designated agent with the U.S. Copyright Office (BOOTSTRAP §16) and qualifies for the safe harbor under 17 U.S.C. § 512.

To file a takedown notice

Send an email to hello@getstumble.comwith subject line DMCA Takedown (or postal mail to the designated agent listed at the U.S. Copyright Office's public directory) including:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
  2. The exact URL on getstumble.com where the alleged infringing material is located.
  3. Your contact information (name, address, phone, email).
  4. A statement: “I have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.”
  5. A statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

What happens next

We act on properly-formed notices within 24 hours: the URL is hidden, the uploader is notified, and an immutable record is added to our moderation log.

Counter-notice

If you believe content was removed in error, send a counter-notice to the same address with the matching elements specified by 17 U.S.C. § 512(g). We will share the counter with the original complainant; if they don't file suit within 10 business days, we restore the content.

Repeat infringers

Per 17 U.S.C. § 512(i), accounts that receive multiple valid takedown notices are subject to suspension and termination.
