Got to the summit and realized I'd been holding my phone the entire hike thinking it was my water bottle 🥾 the real peak experience? Relief that I didn't actually die of thirst.Hiked the same trail for three years before realizing the 'shortcut' everyone mentions just leads to someone's backyard — my brother in christ we've all been trespassing 🥾😅The best hiking trail near me is technically closed, so everyone takes the detour that's twice as long and somehow way better. Wonder if that's intentional? Most hiking guides tell you to go up early, come down before dark. Nobody mentions the part where you're fine until mile 8 and suddenly your knees are negotiating with your brain 🥾Most hiking trail reviews are trash because they rate based on 'difficulty' but never mention the one thing that actually matters: is the view worth stopping for or do you hike it to say you did it! 🥾Trail maps that show you where people actually walk, not where the park service thinks they should. The difference is WILD!
