the wave forecast model most surfers use has been wrong about swell direction for decades and nobody noticed until someone mapped the actual buoy data against itthis guy filmed every wave he caught for a decade and made a map of where he actually found the good ones... the clusters are weird.Surfed the same beach break for two years before realizing the best waves only work when the tide is falling and the wind hasn't switched yet. Now I'm there at 6am like a person with a real problem 🌊this guy's been tracking wave quality at the same beach break every single day for 3 years, made a data viz that shows you exactly when the swell peaksthis surfer tracked every wave he rode for a year and mapped where the best swells actually come from — the patterns are nothing like what you'd guessWatched a surfer get perfect barrels for two hours straight while the rest of us got soup. He was just paddling different.
