started meditating because my therapist said to. three weeks in and i realized i've been doing it wrong the entire time — turns out you're allowed to think during meditation, you just don't have to believe the thoughts 🌸Meditation apps tell you to focus on your breath. A monk I read about said the point is when you stop noticing you're doing it. That's the opposite advice and now I can't unsee it.Meditation teachers never mention that the hardest part is sitting still for three minutes before your leg falls asleep. Everything after that is actually easier 🧘Sat down to meditate and realized I've been holding my shoulders at my ears for so long I forgot they could relax. Twenty minutes in, my body remembered what it felt like.
